Women Empowerment
Sarboday Sangha works in empowerment includes the action of raising the status of women through education, raising awareness, literacy, and training. Organization strongly believes that women's empowerment is all about equipping and allowing women to make life-determining decisions through the different problems in society. Access to financial services and the subsequent transfer of financial resources to poor women enable them to become economic agents of change. Women become economically self-reliant, contribute directly to the well-being of their families, play a more active role in decision-making, and are able to confront systemic gender inequalities. Sarbadoy Sangha facilitated the concept of SHGs among community women to encourage them to participate in their development and work towards day-to-day problems through small savings. It was a major step to realize economic freedom.
The project aims are as follows:
- To provide utmost effort to upgrade the quality of life among with poorest of the poor families where women can play a pivotal role.
- To facilitate to access the resources necessary to meet their needs and reach their potential. These include material, social resources & human resources.
- To develop and strengthen the women co-operative to make decisions to shape their future that can be influenced by collective assets and capabilities, which include voice, organization, and identity.
Roll out Activities
- Formation of Self Help Groups –
one of the key strategy for addressing issue of poverty alleviation and women's empowerment. New groups ae being formed primarily with those families in those areas where the number of groups are less. More than 100 groups were formed by the organization in these years and linked with approved financial institutions.

Capacity buliding of Women –
This is one of the primary activities where groups are being nurtured from the beginning. The capacity building isues are as follows:
- Opening of a bank account:- The SHG presents the bank with a resolution stating its intent to open a bank account, the authorization of at least three members to jointly operate upon their account, and a copy of the rules and regulations of the SHG if available.
- Internal lending:- The handbook stresses how it is important for the SHG to practice internal lending before opening a bank account, as it is through internal lending that the SHG will learn to properly manage, utilize and repay their SHG loans.
- Livelihood income:-Find out the local resources to have an alternative income and how this can be developed from internal lending.
- Entrepreunership Development :– Women group who are potential for doing small sacle business. Members are being orient on seven features and those are: Self-Motivation, Understand What has been offer, take risks, build the network, basic money management skills and knowledge, flexibility and passion.
